Climate Change
The issue of Climate Change has been subject to intense debate throughout the years. Although the earth's climate and regional climates have always fluctuated, now the change is happening much more rapidly and linked to human activity. In the last century, there has been a dramatic increase in fossil energy usage. This human activity has caused a shift in the composition of the atmosphere. The increase in CO2 and other pollutants produced from our society has lead to slight changes in the global surface temperatures. The change has been labeled "climate change" or referred to as "global warming". These changes, if unchecked, will have dramatic effects on weather patterns, ocean currents, ecosystems and global temperatures.
