Biomass
The use of plant and plant-derived materials such as grasses, forestry, municipal wastes, and agricultural crops to create heat, electricity and/or biofuels is a technique that is renewable, more sustainable, and results in lower greenhouse gas emissions.
The environmental benefits of biomass energy can be significantly greater than that of conventional electricity generation and petroleum-based fuels.
- Improved air quality.
- Renewable/sustainable resource.
- Produced closer to market.
- Reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
- Provides economic development to farmers.
