General Motors Announces B20 Biofuel Capability for New, 2011 Duramax 6.6l Turbo Diesel (February 8, 2010)
GM announced today that its new lineup of heavy-duty diesel pickups will have B20 biodiesel capability. B20 fuel is a blend of 20-percent biodiesel and 80-percent conventional diesel, which helps lower carbon dioxide emissions and lessens dependence on petroleum. Eligible E85 Stations May Receive Free Highway Advertising! (January 15, 2009)
The American Lung Association of Wisconsin launched a highway exit sign grant program for E85 stations. Eligible applicants will receive one year of rent on the applicable blue DOT “Gas” sign located closest to their station, as well as the initial graphic fee. Minnesota Governor Pawlenty Signs Biodiesel Mandate (May 13, 2008)
On May 12th, 2008, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty signed into law a new mandate for biodiesel to reach B20 by 2015 through incremental steps. Since 2005, all diesel fuel sold in Minnesota is required to contain 2% biodiesel by law. Reducing particulate pollution is a major national priority for the American Lung Association. Minnesota’s move to B20 will reduce particulate pollution from diesel emissions by 12 percent. Read more...
