Clean Air Promoter Recognized By Corn Growers November 25, 2008
Bloomington, IL – The American Lung Association of Illinois (ALAIL) received the Ethanol Innovation Award from the Illinois Corn Growers Association at their annual meeting on November 25 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bloomington.
“The partnership that ICGA and the American Lung Association of Illinois have developed has really blossomed since its beginning in 2005,” said Art Bunting, president of ICGA of Dwight. “We are lucky to have such a diligent team of individuals working beside us as we educate consumers on the benefits of bio-fuels such as E85 that help reduce harmful pollutants in the air.”
The ALAIL is involved in a variety of programs through which they promote the benefits of cleaner burning fuels and new technology to the public.
One of the current initiatives includes working with Ford and General Motors on educating consumers about the benefits of alternative fuels through a rebate coupon program on E85 for flexible fuel vehicles. “Our goal is to encourage the advancement of new technology and to educate the consumer on ways to reduce harmful pollutants,” said Harold Wimmer, President and CEO of the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest.
