SUMMARY:Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition Seeks Summer Intern
DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition\, coordinated by the American Lung Association in Minnesota\, is seeking an intern for a paid position working from approximately June 3 – August 16\, 2024 to be hosted by the St. Paul office. Argonne National Laboratory offers internships through the Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program to support local Clean Cities Coalitions. \nThis summer 2024\, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program (CCUWDP) invites undergraduate and graduate students to start their professional journey in our clean transportation transition. \nThe Clean Cities and Communities network has been working at the forefront of the nation’s clean energy and economic security since 1993.  Coalitions across the nation cultivate local partnerships to find innovative ways of advancing equitable\, efficient\, and clean transportation fuels and technologies. \nThis is an exciting time to be in the transportation industry\, and we invite students to join us in shifting the way our nation thinks about and accesses clean transportation. Interns in this competitively-selected program will gain first-hand experience working with coalition staff and their stakeholders\, to make our future better together. \nWhether you’re an undergraduate or graduate student\, or have recently graduated within the past year\, this program will provide you with unparalleled first-hand experience in the world of clean transportation. \nPosition Description: \nThis full time paid position will require the student to work a hybrid schedule. The student will work to educate and engage users of alternative fuel vehicles and advanced technologies through data analysis\, virtual/in-person events\, communications\, initiatives and other forms of outreach. Project workplan will depend on student experience and strengths. \nUnder supervision the intern will: \n\nAssist staff with support of virtual and/or in-person events during the summer including alternative fuel workshops and trainings\, electric vehicle outreach and station education\nManage and collect data for report on electric vehicle adoption\nDevelop newsletter articles and help manage social media content\nAnalyze survey data from events\nComplete activity reports and other paperwork as required\n\nQualifications: \nPreference given to candidates with: \n\nMust be undergraduate in Junior or Senior year or graduate student\nBackground in natural or social sciences including environmental\, marketing/graphic design\, public relations\, health education\nAbility to prioritize\, multi-task and remain flexible with work activities and schedule\nCompetent in Microsoft Word\, PowerPoint\, Excel\, Outlook\nAbility to work some evenings and weekends\n\nCompensation: \n\nFull-time position (30-40 hours per week)\nPay rate: based on undergrad or graduate level ($4\,500 – $7\,200)\nPosition is grant funded and is dependent upon availability of funds\n\nApplication Procedure: \nCover letter must address related jobs\, responsibilities and relevant experience \nPlease send cover letter & resume to: Lisa Thurstin at 651-223-9568 or lisa.thurstin@lung.org \nDeadline to apply: May 3\, 2023
