DESCRIPTION:Minnesota GreenCorps is now accepting applications for 58 full-time AmeriCorps members! Positions are available with governments\, nonprofit organizations\, and educational institutions statewide. Members earn an AmeriCorps living stipend and education award and serve full-time for 11 months\, from mid-September 2024 through August 2025. \nThe American Lung Association/Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition is excited to host a Minnesota GreenCorps member for the upcoming service term out of our Saint Paul office. Our member will serve in the Energy Conservation & Green Transportation topic area\, and their project will focus on reducing emissions and vehicle miles traveled by promoting green transportation options such as shared and electric vehicle mobility\, electric vehicles (EVs)\, and other alternative fuels. Specific member activities include: \n-Promoting shared and electric mobility as part of a new clean transportation action plan\, gathering additional information on electric mobility and alternate forms of transportation\, and attending community outreach events to share resources to reduce vehicle miles traveled. \n-Promoting electric school buses by contacting district transportation directors\, hosting webinars\, creating content for the Clean Air Choice website\, and attending related conferences to network and promote opportunities. \n-Managing two electric mobility ride-and-drive events\, coordinating EV owner volunteers\, recruiting dealerships and vendors\, developing a map and route for test drives\, collecting pre- and post-surveys from participants\, and compiling a report. \n-Developing communications materials such as social media\, editorials\, and e-newsletters. \nApplicants may indicate their interest in serving with the Lung Association in their application and interview. New on-road vehicles funded by this grant can be diesel\, diesel-electric hybrid\, electric\, natural gas\, or propane. Projects funded will reduce diesel emissions in Minnesota\, fund new vehicles and pieces of equipment around the state\, and fund a mixture of clean\, alternative fuel technologies. \nProposals are due no later than 4:30 p.m. Central Time on October 16\, 2024. \nInformational meeting\nThe MPCA will host an online informational webinar on August 13 (10:30 a.m.) to assist applicants applying to the RFP and provide an overview of the SWIFT system used for applications and the RFP itself.

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we launch our newest all-electric carshare hub at Mill City Quarter Apartments on November 21 from 1-2 pm. The new electric hub is part of our Multifamily Electric Vehicle Carshare Pilot Project\, a partnership with Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition\, HourCar\, Xcel Energy with support from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. Focused on affordable housing sites\, the Multifamily Project provides clean\, affordable transportation options to communities around the Twin Cities. Through this project\, HOURCAR is increase electric vehicle access to underserved communities. \nAs the largest initiative of its type in the United States\, by 2026\, the Multifamily Project:\n• Will provide 50 electric vehicles\n• Will be located at 25 sites around the Twin Cities\n• Will serve a growing membership base of over 10\,000 members \nCurrent sites are located in Minneapolis\, Saint Paul\, Little Canada\, Bloomington\, Richfield\, St Louis Park. Upcoming sites are located in Minneapolis\, Saint Paul and Hopkins. \nNovember 21\, 2024 | 1-2PM\nMill City Quarter Apartments\,\n322 S 2nd St\, MPLS\, 55401 \nWe’ll be located in the back retail parking area by the chargers. If poor weather\, we’ll be right inside in the retail lobby. \nDrive an Evie and park for free at a meter\, ride a bike\, walk over\, take Metro Transit\, or use metered parking located in front of and around the building. \nThe Multifamily Project is a partnership between HOURCAR and Xcel Energy. Funding for the installation of the charging infrastructure was approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission in September 2023. Additional support for the project was provided by the U.S. Department of Energy\, GM Corporate Giving\, the McKnight Foundation\, 3M\, the Regional Solicitation of the Metropolitan Council\, and the Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition/American Lung Association. \nThe Multifamily Project is currently accepting applications for its final phase in 2025. All multidwelling units are welcome to apply\, with special encouragement sites that provide at least 66% of available units for low-income households\, as they may be eligible to receive a Level 2 dual-port charger\, installation\, and two electric carshare vehicles at no/minimal cost during the contracted pilot period. \nThe final round of applications is open at HOURCAR.org/Multifamily. \nThis project is based upon work supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) under the Office of Vehicle Technologies Award Number DE-EE0009226
