SUMMARY:Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition Seeks Summer Intern
DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition\, coordinated by the American Lung Association in Minnesota\, is seeking an intern for a paid position working from approximately June 3 – August 16\, 2024 to be hosted by the St. Paul office. Argonne National Laboratory offers internships through the Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program to support local Clean Cities Coalitions. \nThis summer 2024\, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program (CCUWDP) invites undergraduate and graduate students to start their professional journey in our clean transportation transition. \nThe Clean Cities and Communities network has been working at the forefront of the nation’s clean energy and economic security since 1993.  Coalitions across the nation cultivate local partnerships to find innovative ways of advancing equitable\, efficient\, and clean transportation fuels and technologies. \nThis is an exciting time to be in the transportation industry\, and we invite students to join us in shifting the way our nation thinks about and accesses clean transportation. Interns in this competitively-selected program will gain first-hand experience working with coalition staff and their stakeholders\, to make our future better together. \nWhether you’re an undergraduate or graduate student\, or have recently graduated within the past year\, this program will provide you with unparalleled first-hand experience in the world of clean transportation. \nPosition Description: \nThis full time paid position will require the student to work a hybrid schedule. The student will work to educate and engage users of alternative fuel vehicles and advanced technologies through data analysis\, virtual/in-person events\, communications\, initiatives and other forms of outreach. DESCRIPTION:Minnesota GreenCorps is now accepting applications for 58 full-time AmeriCorps members! Positions are available with governments\, nonprofit organizations\, and educational institutions statewide. Members earn an AmeriCorps living stipend and education award and serve full-time for 11 months\, from mid-September 2024 through August 2025. \nThe American Lung Association/Minnesota Clean Cities Coalition is excited to host a Minnesota GreenCorps member for the upcoming service term out of our Saint Paul office. Our member will serve in the Energy Conservation & Green Transportation topic area\, and their project will focus on reducing emissions and vehicle miles traveled by promoting green transportation options such as shared and electric vehicle mobility\, electric vehicles (EVs)\, and other alternative fuels. Specific member activities include: \n-Promoting shared and electric mobility as part of a new clean transportation action plan\, gathering additional information on electric mobility and alternate forms of transportation\, and attending community outreach events to share resources to reduce vehicle miles traveled. \n-Promoting electric school buses by contacting district transportation directors\, hosting webinars\, creating content for the Clean Air Choice website\, and attending related conferences to network and promote opportunities. \n-Managing two electric mobility ride-and-drive events\, coordinating EV owner volunteers\, recruiting dealerships and vendors\, developing a map and route for test drives\, collecting pre- and post-surveys from participants\, and compiling a report. \n-Developing communications materials such as social media\, editorials\, and e-newsletters. \nApplicants may indicate their interest in serving with the Lung Association in their application and interview.
