Mobilizing Locally To Foster Alternative Fuels

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Cities program helps achieve energy security and environmental quality goals. The program encourages clean fuel choices through more than 90 Clean Cities partnerships across the country.

Clean Cities demonstrates how stakeholders can work together to improve our world. With coalitions across the country, the program mobilizes local partners to expand use of cleaner burning and more sustainable fuel alternatives. All-volunteer, government/industry coalitions provide a forum to discover, investigate and implement joint projects that leverage resources to promote clean fuel choices.

The Clean Cities Program Strives To:

CREATE NEW JOBS AND
COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES
ENCOURAGE ALTERNATIVE FUEL
PRODUCTION AND ADOPTION
FACILITATE ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE PRODUCTION AND CONVERSION
EXPAND LOCAL REFUELING INFRASTRUCTURE
DEVELOP “CLEAN CORRIDORS”
INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS
