The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) has opened applications for the FY2024 State Clean Diesel Grant Program, offering approximately $380,000 in funding to support the replacement of older, heavy-duty diesel vehicles with cleaner alternatives. Schools, cities, counties, and other government agencies are encouraged to apply for grants that can help fund the purchase of diesel-powered, zero-emission, hybrid, or alternatively fueled vehicles, reducing air pollution in accordance with the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act. Since the program’s inception, 127 vehicles have been replaced, leading to an estimated reduction of 225 tons of emissions over their lifetimes.
